Privacy Policy

We do not store your data or collect personally identifying information. Our vendor uses mobile application usage statistics to analyze how our mobile application is used. We then use this information to improve the mobile application’s usefulness to the public.

If you choose to provide us with personal information, we will not retain that information beyond the extent necessary for the purpose it was provided. When you make an inquiry by e-mail, we do not post your inquiry publicly and will only retain information related to that inquiry to the extent necessary to provide you with a response.

When you use our mobile applications, our vendor (GoodBarber) may collect information about your visit to our mobile application and your usage. That information may include IP address, operating system, browser ID, browsing activity, and other information about how you interacted with our application. Our vendor may use mobile analytics software (such as crashlytics.com) to understand better how people use our application.

Our mobile application contains embedded YouTube videos. The purpose of this integration is to display to users relevant video content. When you navigate to a page containing an embedded YouTube video, YouTube/Google collects and processes information related to your usage of the video. That information includes but is not limited to, IP address, data in local storage, and cookie data.

It is the policy of the Maryland Judiciary to preserve the privacy of personal records and to protect confidential or privileged information obtained through the use of this mobile application. Such information will be disclosed publicly only in accordance with the Maryland Rules on Access to Court Records.

This Privacy Policy is limited to information provided by you on this mobile application and does not apply to personal or identifying information about litigants that may appear in published appellate court opinions posted on the Maryland Judiciary’s website, Maryland Judiciary Case Search, Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC), or links to any third-party sites or services, including the Maryland Self-Help Chat contained herein.

This Policy addresses current Judiciary mobile application practices and does not cover future transactions including, but not limited to, e-commerce, e-filing, or future communications with the Judiciary.
